Panasonic TH-46PZ85U Plasma TV

The Panasonic TH46PZ85U is a third level product in Panasonic’s lineup. This plasma TV is one of the brightest ever experienced with antiglare technology present in it and makes it a true competitor to the best LCD TV’s even in a bright light location. This is simply one of the major and superb improvements which Panasonic has designed this plasma with. You cannot even dream that you would see plasma with such brightness. However one drawback of this Panasonic product was the background noise and dithering in the HD noise.

This latest release of Panasonic plasma is the brightest plasma TV ever developed. The excessive brightness of this plasma TV makes HD programming stand out, however it hurts the reality of the picture images and especially those non-computer animated film contents. Therefore this extra brightness of the TH-46PZ85U comes out to be a benefit for rooms that have high ambient light conditions, but seems to be a drawback for the darker home theater rooms since it will create some slightly unrealistic tones in darker environments.

The Panasonic TH-46PZ85U excels with its deep natural looking black levels. The black bars that are displayed at the top and bottom of the picture are true black and they disappear completely when dark or black content is displayed. It has a very high range in the gray scale of the screen. It consists of three HDMI inputs, one SD card slot and a fifteen pin VGA and does not have any USB port or headphone output.

The Panasonic 46PZ85U has a high gloss black frame and stands with hidden bottom speaker. This model of plasma has full and rich sound quality with good bass from its built-in speakers. Thus the virtual surround effect is excellent. The hidden speaker also allows the plasma some clean lines while the stand is attractive with a small footprint. The housing of this plasma TV seems like a little plastic when compared to some of the higher end models on the market. However its incredible slim line of just over three inches in depth makes up for everything.
