Haier HLT71 PLASMA TV

This model of Haier comes under the portable LCD TV category. Haeir HLT71 is a 7” handheld portable that is known for an excellent picture quality it produces. It gives you the comfort of watching your favorite programs from anywhere and at any time. To have a crisp reception, it is built-in with an ATSC/NTSC tuner with detachable antenna. Though the true purpose of this portable TV is to watch it even on the move but unfortunately this TV doesn’t seem to pass the test of being portable. Like the analog sets you can’t expect to watch various channels on the move, since even the slightest movement can cause digital variations.

This model switches between the aspect ratio of 16:9 and 4:3. Among the portable plasma there is no doubt that this TV has the best picture quality. Fully color saturated and bright, even the smaller texts are visible clearly when checked in the outdoors. Built-in twin speaker system gives a decent sound quality which will definitely be more if the LCD is installed in a car. If needed to be connected with other audio systems, there are audio/video jack and co-axial output available for it. You can also plug-in your headphones in the jack available exclusively for it enjoy your favorite programs with disturbing the others around you

It is reliable, compact and easy-to-use monitor and it can be easily set in just few minutes. Channel scanning seems to be very easy as it picks up all the channels with good signal in just few seconds. This portable LCD comes with a battery, which will be very useful for the users who use it have portable ones. The battery life varies from 90 minutes to 2 hours which is gives us power to watch a movie on the move. There is also car adapter which can be used if your car has the facility. The menu is very simple that adjusting color, contrast and brightness seems to very simple. The main bad point about this model is that the signal is good only in certain areas, which too seems to fade periodically. And being a portable TV, consumers expect it free from the wired connections which it fails to meet. The Haier’s remote control is easy to use and almost all the functions can be controlled through the remote.

Its color looks like a rubberized black and comes with a pullout stand to put it on the table which provides the facility to use it video sources like a DVD player. Being a portable TV, it is strange that it doesn’t come with a carrying case, but when searched in the market it was not very difficult to find a cast for this LCD. Though the model has many good points to talk about, its scores come down due to its erratic antenna which exhibits poor quality on the move. If you are planning to buy a TV to fix it in your rooms for occasional use, then I would strongly recommend Haier HLT71.

Haier 42EP14S Plasma TV

With better reputation in manufacturing other electronic products, the American Plasma TV company have tried to have a fair split of the pastry. With mere 4 inches in thickness, this comes among those that can be hung on a wall in any living room. Comparatively with other Plasma TV’s in the market, this Haier 42EP14S is available at a reasonable price with all the identical features, in built. Every input need to connect HDTV, regular DVD etc are perfectly placed with this Haier Plasma model. With silver round edge at the outer and a black lining close to the external frame this Plasma looks lustrous and suits any living room at it best. With EDTV picture quality, this Haier 42EP14S has softer images in comparison to the HDTV version. Costing around 2300$ online this plasma is the least expensive EDTV plasma model among its class.

The Haier 42EP14S has few rows of buttons concealed at the bottom just underneath the silver frame, including a couple of logos and the Haier brand name at the centre. The stand ant the entire frame is finished in silver bright. An optional wall-mount bracket worth 149$ and an optional pair of speakers without which you will have to connect to an external sound source as Haier 42EP14S panel do not have built in speakers. The EDTV picture resolution of 852×480 fails to convey every picture details that’s delivered on most HDTV’s, this as a matter of fact would prove costly to users. In displaying 720p and 1080i HDTV pictures the Plasma TV finds no difficulty. The remote control with the Haier 42EP14S is undersized but fits well in the hand. Innovative freeze option is a cool addition to the remote of this Haier model.

Picture zoom and freeze are few noticeable features with it. Selectable colour-temperature settings give you an option to select the colour palette that pleases you the most. With just one component-video input, one S-Video input, one DVI input, one composite-video input, a set of A/V outputs and one VGA input for PC hook up the connectivity is limited. Considering today’s standards, Haier 42EP14S is one that has too low standards with below-average picture quality. Black performance levels of this plasma are not too good. On the other hand, colour decoding is a first-rate. Bearing in mind the price tag and its features it might suit people with not much of much expectations from Plasma.
