This model of Haier comes under the portable LCD TV category. Haeir HLT71 is a 7'' handheld portable that is known for an excellent picture quality it produces. It gives you the comfort of watching your favorite programs from anywhere and at any time. To have a crisp reception, it is built-in with an ATSC/NTSC tuner with detachable antenna. Though the true purpose of this portable TV is to watch it even on the move but unfortunately this TV doesn’t seem to pass the test of being portable. Like the analog sets you can’t expect to watch various channels on the move, since even the slightest movement can cause digital variations.
This model switches between the aspect ratio of 16:9 and 4:3. Among the portable plasma there is no doubt that this TV has the best picture quality. Fully color saturated and bright, even the smaller texts are visible clearly when checked in the outdoors. Built-in twin speaker system gives a decent sound quality which will definitely be more if the LCD is installed in a car. If needed to be connected with other audio systems, there are audio/video jack and co-axial output available for it. You can also plug-in your headphones in the jack available exclusively for it enjoy your favorite programs with disturbing the others around you

Channel scanning seems to be very easy as it picks up all the channels with good signal in just few seconds. This portable LCD comes with a battery, which will be very useful for the users who use it have portable ones. The battery life varies from 90 minutes to 2 hours which is gives us power to watch a movie on the move. There is also car adapter which can be used if your car has the facility. The menu is very simple that adjusting color, contrast and brightness seems to very simple. The main bad point about this model is that the signal is good only in certain areas, which too seems to fade periodically. And being a portable TV, consumers expect it free from the wired connections which it fails to meet. The Haier's remote control is easy to use and almost all the functions can be controlled through the remote.
Its color looks like a rubberized black and comes with a pullout stand to put it on the table which provides the facility to use it video sources like a DVD player. Being a portable TV, it is strange that it doesn’t come with a carrying case, but when searched in the market it was not very difficult to find a cast for this LCD. Though the model has many good points to talk about, its scores come down due to its erratic antenna which exhibits poor quality on the move. If you are planning to buy a TV to fix it in your rooms for occasional use, then I would strongly recommend Haier HLT71.
